Most of the tools are inside the Correction option at the bottom. Still, the autocorrect is a one click fix in the bottom toolbar, and you can undo the action in the right sidebar it it’s not right for that particular photo. On some, it does a great job, while other photos may still need a bit more tweaking afterwards. Like any auto correction, how well it does depends vastly on the photo. So, how does a free app compare to all the features that are in the real Photoshop software? Of course, there are some big limitations, but the tool selection does a decent job of making quick edits. Unlike the full software, the app is easy to use without any experience at all. With a single simple sidebar for options and touchscreen controls that any experienced tablet user can easily figure out, Photoshop Express has a very simple interface. If you tap the screen, the editing options will disappear, leaving you in a full screen mode with just the photo to view. Of course, since it’s a touchscreen there’s a few tools that you can’t physically see-like on many apps, you can pinch or unpinch the screen to zoom in or out. At the left, the app has options for sharing and reviewing the changes with the original photo. Once the image is open, the bottom menu holds all the options: crop, correct, looks, red eye, reduce noise and auto fix. The built-in camera feature certainly isn’t a reason to download the app itself, but there is the option to use a self-timer and choose a resolution. While the Photoshop software takes lots of time to learn, the app is simple to pick up.Īfter downloading the app, users are prompted to find the photo they’d like to edit from their photos, an Adobe Revel account, or by taking a snapshot directly from the app with the smartphone or tablet camera. Adobe worked to make the app user-friendly, and it shows. Photoshop Express is designed to be a more universal app that even casual smartphone photographers can use easily. Adobe Photoshop Express Review: The Interface Did Adobe limit their free app too much, or does it include the right mix of features? Exploring the Adobe Photoshop Express for Android review gives us a pretty good idea of whether or not it’s worth the free download. Of course as free software, the app is going to be more limited than the full-fledged software. And where Photoshop software is available for a monthly fee that can really start to add up, Photoshop Express is free. The Android tablet and smartphone version is designed for taking advantage of a touchscreen interface and for doing simple photo edits. That’s where Adobe Photoshop Express comes in. But what if you don’t need all those options? What if you favor working on your Android tablet or smartphone? What if you want a platform that is simpler to operate, but offers more than just a few filters? You can also add media or change the sort order. When you need a lot of editing power, Photoshop is the go-to solution, with a wide variety of tools and options. Calling up the app bar presents options for adding photos to an Album, sharing to Facebook (more on that in the Sharing section below), deleting, viewing in "Card view" which presents a pleasing, swipeable post-card style view of your photos. Creating new libraries requires a paid account. The first lets you select among any Revel, or remaining Carousel libraries attributed to your Adobe account login. Viewing Revel's very simple initial interface just shows two options, Library and Albums. Adobe may take note that SkyDrive options in Windows 8.1 let users have their photos and videos automatically uploaded to a folder on SkyDrive, which, by the way, offers very respectable online galleries itself. Any video entries in your Windows 8 Revel app appear as still photos, and no editing or playing is possible. There's no camera mode in the Windows 8 Revel app, though, so you can't add photos from within the app as you can in Revel for iOS.Īnother big thing that the iPhone version of Revel can do that the Windows 8 version can't: Upload videos. Of course, you could also set up a Windows 8 device to upload to SkyDrive. So for Windows 8, Revel can act like iCloud Photo Stream. Uploading Revel's Auto Import option, accessed through the app's Settings charm, uploads photos as soon as they appear in a specified folder, the most likely candidate for which is the Pictures folder, where photos you shoot with the Windows 8 device are saved. The $5.99-a-month paid account allows unlimited uploads. I mentioned the free account, but with that you're limited to just 50 photo uploads per month. To use Revel, you need to create or sign in to an Adobe account, as the appealing welcome page notes. Best Hosted Endpoint Protection and Security Software.
